The approach’s core principle of ‘sound before symbol’ provides an all inclusive environment for students to be actively involved in performance, composition and the listening element of music. Students encounter the nature of rhythm and melody through a variety of repertoire, incorporating a range of melodic and non-melodic instruments.

Each lesson is characterised by singing and movement, providing the platform for students to internalise musical phrases which in-turn lead to the progression of instrumentation appropriate to each stage.
