Kitchen Garden
Our kitchen and garden program provides students with hands-on learning experiences that stimulate cognitive growth and development. By engaging in sustainable gardening and food preparation, children develop life skills that foster resilience, creativity, and a deeper understanding of nutrition and wellbeing.
Participation in these activities enhances critical thinking, problem-solving abilities and teamwork, contributing to well-rounded educational outcomes. The program supports sensory engagement, fine motor skills, and real-world applications of science and health concepts, nurturing students’ curiosity and fostering lifelong positive habits related to food, sustainability and healthy living.

“To see the confidence in our children as the discover newfound skills and the ability to produce something that can be enjoyed by themselves or gifted to others is just so encouraging.” Coast Parent

Sport
Our aim at Coast is to provide lots of opportunities for the children to develop a variety of skills, a level of fitness and appropriate sportsmanship so they can actively and happily participate in various games and activities.
Specialist PE teachers conduct weekly lessons for all classes either on our oval, or the indoor basketball court. Fun activities that develop hand-eye co-ordination, balance and motor skills are a focus in the younger grades. As the children get older there is an increased focus on particular sports including athletics, cross country, swimming, soccer, rugby, netball and basketball, at which boys and girls can represent to the highest level.

“I love that at Coast, sport isn’t just about winning. It’s about building character, glorifying God, and teaching kids respect, humility, and teamwork, helping them grow on and off the field. This is really important to me as a parent.” Coast Parent

Music
Coast Christian School offers an engaging music program for all students from Preparatory through to Year 6. Each class has a 1-hour lesson per week, and students are taught the concepts of music through singing, playing, composition and movement.
While specialist staff take all classes for regular music lessons, there are further opportunities for the children to broaden their skills and experience. We put on a musical every second year in which all students in the school participate. Boys and girls from Grades 2-6 can sing in the choir, while many others undertake instruction to learn an instrument with one of the tutors who are engaged by Coast.

“The school musical is an absolute highlight in the calendar for all. The effort and dedication that goes into producing such high quality, memory making event never ceases to amaze.” Coast Parent
