Preparatory

Coast Christian School’s Preparatory class is an excellent starting point for your child’s school readiness journey.

Our dedicated Prep team takes joy in watching each child’s confidence grow as they transition smoothly to kindergarten.

Our Prep class balances play-based learning with guided lessons nurturing both social skills and academic growth. Whether they’re exploring in our nature play area or participating in pre-literacy activities, students have opportunities every day to develop their skills in a fun and engaging environment. From making mud pies, and building bug homes in our nature play area, to exploring Music, and Sport, students learn through interactive play.

Our Prep class fosters a safe environment for children to engage, learn, and thrive. Our tailored curriculum supports social development, helping children practice sharing, taking turns, listening, and managing frustrations. A unique feature is our visual day plan, guiding children through the day’s schedule, reassuring both students and parents. Children feel secure, knowing what to expect and when parents will pick them up. Our two-class structure ensures consistency, with one group on Mondays and Tuesdays and another from Wednesdays to Fridays, supporting strong social bonds and active participation.

Prep FAQ's

  • What age can my child start Prep?

To be considered for enrolment in Prep, children need to have turned 4 years of age by January 1st the year they would commence Prep, (unless there are exceptional circumstances).

  • How long can my child go to Prep for?

Prep is designed to be a one-year program before starting Kindergarten.

  • Is Prep government subsidised?

As Prep is independently run, the fees are not government subsided. We believe, however, that every child should have access to Prep and therefore set our daily rate to be comparable to that of an averagely subsided preschool or daycare.
